Few writing projects cause as much stress as applications (and for good reason!). If you’re working on applications and are overwhelmed, struggling, or just need help with grammar or seeing the big picture, I’m here.

Application services are broad and flexible. They can include …

• language editing to address the grammar, mechanics, style, and clarity of application components

• developmental editing to evaluate the organization and content of application components

• comprehensive review to evaluate how effectively the various parts of an application work together

• strategic planning on tailoring applications to particular schools or employers

• project management to help you organize and pace your application efforts

Our collaboration will begin with a conversation (by email, phone, or video) about your needs and goals. From there, we will determine the scope, outcomes, timeline, and estimated cost of our work together. We will also clarify how we will work together: email, 1:1 calls, or a combination of both.

Deliverables vary by the type of work. Edited documents will be returned with comments and in-line revisions marked with Track Changes. Evaluations will be returned in the form of written or recorded comments. Project management will be handled by email or phone, according to your preferences. And for 1:1 calls, I will follow up with a recording of our session, a list of action items, and any other necessary materials.

As a communicative and hands-on editor, I will stay in touch for the duration of your application cycle. I provide clarifications on edits and comments for free. And I always love hearing updates on the results!

Rates

Application services are generally billed at a rate of $80/hour. An initial payment covering the first two hours of services is required before work begins. Package discounts are available for complex and/or extensive projects.
